Ice Still Melts into Water
This piece is a collaboration with 2 other artists, Farhad Kalantry originally from Iran, and Hans Kwiotek originally from Germany. Coming from very different backgrounds we forged a work through a process of subtraction. We took our highly complex ideas and stripped them down to only the bare elements. Out of 3 very involved ideas we were able to each find the one element of our ideas that was most important to us. With these 3 elements (ice, suspension and ground) we brought together a true collaboration. As collaborations are about letting go of individual visions so that new ideas can form. And no matter what one’s background or circumstance in life, there are universalities, such as ice melting into water.
